
The grape, on the right path
The Rioja Control Board has started this past Monday 25th in the subzone of Rioja Baja, the earliest of the designation, a control of ripening of the grapes, allowing growers to determine the ideal harvest date in each locality and thus optimize the quality of wines produced. The satisfactory progress of maturation, which presents an advance of ten days with respecto to the previous harvest, although with delay in relation to the previous five-year period.
The vegetative state of the vineyard in this subzone is excellent and also the health is good, due to the sources of powdery are well controlled.
Until the start of the harvest in each area, the Control Board will made weekly this control, which will extend to the whole denomination next week. This will provide an overview of the situation and perspectives of the 2014 vintage in Rioja.
