
Bodegas Riojanas release to the market the 2007 vintage of its classic Monte Real and Viña Albina Reserva
The category "reserve" is clearly what best reflects the exceptional qualities of Rioja wine for aging in barrels and which is giving prestigious to the region in international markets.
The reserve wines of Rioja reach annual sales of 70 million bottles and in markets like United States are showing a spectacular growtw, 50% last year.
The 2007 vintage in Rioja was rated as "Very Good".
For Spanish consumers Monte Real and Viña Albina are two classical benchmarks, that prestige the table in big celebrations like Christmas. Both wines maintain a distinct profile wine based on the origin of the grapes used for its production and represent two traditional styles of the great red wines of Rioja Reserve, some a more powerful and structured, others lighter and elegant. Aged for 24 to 30 months in Amerikan oak, with a minimum of another 24 months in bottle before being released to the market.
Viña Albina Reserva Selección 2007, highly representative of classic Rioja Alta wines. Grapes from Cenicero, Sonsierra and Villalba de Rioja (80% Tempranillo, 15% Mazuelo and 5% Graciano). Cherry red colour with brick tones, elegant in the nose with fruity aromas.
Monte Real Reserva de Familia 2007, a single varietal of Tempranillo, following the unmistakable personality of Cenicero wines.
The wine has a very intense cherry red colour with a tawny rim. On the nose clean and powerful aromas. Wide structure in mouth. Very well developed, it guarantees a long life in the bottle.
Both wines are elaborated following the classical vinification with destalked, crushed grapes using the latest fermentation control technologies and long maceration periods. Aged for 24 to 30 months in American casks. Aged in the bottle for at least 24 months before being released to the market.
