The 2014 vintage has been completed in the QDO Rioja with results better than those of last year both quantitatively and qualitatively. The Technical Services Control Board have offered an initial interim report of the harvest, which puts the final amount raised around 434 million kg. of grapes, of which 398 million are red grapes and 36 million are white. This production corresponds to the productive potential that currently QDO Rioja according to the limitation of maximum yields per hectare set for this season. After a growing season with a very favorable climate, the Rioja vineyards exhibited excellent vegetative and health status at the end of ripening, allowing to have good expectations for the vintage in quantity and quality, which improve the results of the two previous years. On the whole it can be said that these expectations have been met, although unlike the rest of the cycle, the weather that has accompanied some of the harvest days has not been ideal.
